Volunteer

Visitor Services

Do you enjoy working with people, and know a thing or two about local history? The Museum is in need of volunteers to help open our doors on Sundays (1 - 4 p.m.) for tours. You don’t have to be a history expert, but just a helpful docent to our guests.

Education

Do you like sharing facts, stories or lessons with other people? The Museum is looking to develop age appropriate programs for the Museum. As a volunteer, you can assist in on-site and off-site programming at schools, senior centers and various local club meetings.

Genealogy

Are you interested in learning about, researching, or sharing family histories? Genealogy volunteers are needed to help build the Museum’s archives by researching family histories, fielding inquiries from out-of-town family researchers, and work on other projects.

Building Care and Maintenance

The Museum building is our largest artifact at 120+ years old and as with all things old and large, they need a little tender loving care. The Museum has several small projects that need extra hands such as moving around cabinets and clearing out rooms, and painting. We’re also in need of volunteers to help us clean (dust, sweep, mop) throughout the museum on a regular basis.

Collections

The Museum needs advocates throughout the community to encourage the donation of photos, artifacts and items of local historical interest. Perhaps a family is cleaning out an estate and just don’t know what to do with the old yearbooks, military uniform, or furniture made by a local manufacturer. These items help tell the story of our past and we have an interest in them. Please encourage donation of these items to the Museum.

If you're interested in helping us out, let us know!
